Lives and works: Athens, Greece
Helene Pavlopoulou completed her Fine Art studies under the guidance and teachings of renowned artist Dimitris Mytaras, and professor Tassos Christakis, while winning two scholarships from the Greek State Foundation.
Helene is a contemporary allegorical artist, where her large scale oil paintings are composed of symbols and/or personifications conveying complex ideas and narratives.
She creates bold and vibrant paintings, having as her main subject the human body. Through her anthropocentric paintings she elevates the human body, representing it larger-than-life, solid, strong, fragile and ethereal at the same time.
Helene Pavlopoulou, uses her own visual language to address issues around life and death, beauty and ephemeral existence. Her work refers us back to Greek mythology connecting stories and symbols of the past with figures of the present, by juxtapositioning the two in her paintings.
Other favorite inspirational elements of the artist’s, are animals, flowers, and the elements of wind and water.
She has more than ten personal exhibitions around the world from Athens, to Paris, Constantinople, Brussels, curated by important Art Historians as Manos Stefanidis, Dora Iliopoulou-Rogan, Syrago Tsiara, Pedro Olalla, while she has participated in numerous Art Fairs and group exhibitions in Europe and USA.
Helene lives and works in Athens, Greece.

Her works are part of important institutional art collections as those of Thessaloniki's State Museum of Contemporary Art, Frissiras Museum, Katsigras Museum, Copelouzos Museum, as well as corporate collections such as the National Bank of Greece, Athens and London, Bank of Piraeus, and international private held collections in Europe and USA.
